Learn How to Throw A Drop Ball

This video is a complete guide to mastering the drop ball. It walks you step-by-step through everything you need to know—from grip and release, to warm-up drills, full pitch execution, pitch strategy, and my favorite tools and drills for developing an effective drop. The value is unmatched: you’ll get the equivalent of months of weekly lessons, all for just $60.

The drop ball is one of the first pitches I like to introduce to developing pitchers. It features one of the simpler spin patterns and serves as an excellent foundation for teaching the concept of Magnus force and movement.

How to Throw a Curveball

The curveball is one of the most effective movement pitches in a pitcher’s arsenal. When thrown correctly, it breaks sharply across the zone, keeping hitters off balance and forcing weak contact or swings and misses. It’s especially valuable against power hitters who sit on straight pitches. Learning to throw a proper curveball not only adds a strategic weapon to a pitcher's game but also helps improve spin efficiency, body awareness, and pitch control.

This video breaks down the curveball step-by-step—covering grip, mechanics, drills, and strategy—making it easy to learn, even for beginners. Whether you're looking to gain a new pitch or sharpen an existing one, this guide will give you the tools to succeed on the mound.

 How to Throw A Riseball

A riseball is a high-velocity softball pitch that appears to "rise" as it approaches the batter due to backspin and upward movement. It's thrown with strong wrist snap and finger pressure underneath the ball, creating lift.

Importance: The riseball is a key strikeout pitch—especially effective when thrown high in the zone against aggressive hitters. It disrupts timing and vision, making it hard to square up. When executed well, it's a powerful weapon for dominance in the circle. It is a high strikeout pitch when thrown correctly.
This video goes through different grips (pro's and con's), different drills, my favorite tools to help learn the riseball, and different throwing
strategies. It also provides different tips and cues to help learn the riseball.

How to Throw a Screwball

The screwball is a valuable pitch that breaks inside on same-handed batters, making it an effective weapon for jamming hitters and disrupting their timing. Unlike other movement pitches that break away, the screwball forces hitters to make quick decisions on inside pitches, often resulting in weak contact or swings and misses.
This pitch also adds strategic variety to a pitcher's arsenal, helping to keep hitters off balance—especially when paired with pitches that move in the opposite direction, such as a curveball or riseball. Mastering the screwball can elevate a pitcher’s ability to control the strike zone, attack specific weaknesses in hitters, and gain a competitive edge at higher levels of play.

This video provides a comprehensive breakdown of how to pitch a screwball. It begins with the foundational grip, then progresses through proper release mechanics, targeted drills for refinement, recommended tools to enhance spin and form, a demonstration of the full pitch, and concludes with tips and strategies for effective in-game use.

I will be teaching a pitching clinic during the month of July. I have taught this clinic several times with a lot of success. It is a great way for pitchers to gain a ton of knowledge in a short amount of time. I highly recommend for a parent to come and catch because I go at a very fast pace and the parents will be able to retain more than the girls. It will be at our facility and stay tuned for details!
